The Lapras Project
What is the Lapras Project?
Newt has taken a special interest in Lapras and their status as an endangered Pokemon species. As such, he's made it a mission of his to do what he can to breed Lapras that he can then reintroduce into the wild in specific locations as a means of helping the wild population grow. Eventually he plans to establish to colonies, one in Johto and one in Kanto, that will be protected and watched over as they continue to breed and slowly repopulate areas that were once inhabited by Lapras.
Where is the current colony located?
Currently the small pod that Newt looks after can be found on the Northern side of Ilex Forest, closest to Goldenrod City. Newt has set up a small campsite off the beaten path near the beach and the Lapras have been relocated to the ocean there from his home in Azalea. Several signs have been posted around with information about the Lapras and why they are they, also politely asking that they be left alone, and Newt visits frequently to check on them. Hermione also lends a hand in taking care of them as she lives fairly close to where the pod has been relocated to.
What can you do to help?
Have a Lapras that is interested in helping? Or maybe you have a Ditto that would like to take part. Details can be found here on how to contact Newt to set up arrangements. Newt is not accepting monetary donations of any sort as he is funding this all out of pocket, though if you'd like to make food-based donations or other items that can be used to care for the Pokemon, feel free! (Potions, etc) Anything he does receive will go specifically towards the Lapras.

He currently has four Lapras in his care (one male and three females) and is looking to either adopt others or borrow individuals from other trainers/breeders to help with his project. If you and your Pokemon have interest in helping, please fill out the form below!
