Met on Route 29 (level 4) | June 27th, 2017 Newt and Queenie encountered this little Starly while they were making their way out of New Bark Town. The poor little bird had a bit of a limp and Newt had immediately settled down on the ground a few feet from it and slowly coaxed it over with some berries so he could take a look. Managing to gain the little guy's trust, Newt was able to look him over and carefully wrap his injured leg. Merlin, as Newt has taken to calling him, is a temporary companion most likely, sticking with the pair while his leg heals.
Having gotten properly healed up in Cherrygrove, Merlin has stuck with Newt for the time being though he does come and go as he pleases. More often than not he disappears for a day or two at a time before returning with a strange new berry for Newt or just returning to settle down with them to take it easy for awhile.
While Merlin is a rather solid member of Newt's group, he's content to go without a Pokeball, enjoying the ability to come and go as he pleases--especially now that he's a Staravia. He's even found himself a mate, a lovely Swanna named Helena, and brought her back with him after an extended stay away to introduce her to Newt. And grace him with their first clutch of eggs.

Met on Route 14 (level 40) | September 9th, 2017 This lovely lady is the mate of Merlin and was introduced to Newt after the Staravia returned from an extended time away from the traveling party. Helena, as Newt has taken to calling her, thinks very highly of herself and doesn't seem to care much for other Pokemon outside of Merlin. (Though she does seem to calm a bit around Rowen, whom she fusses over before sending him on his way.)

She follows Newt around like he's her actual parent, not really caring much for Merlin or Helena because Newt is her chosen parent. When he isn't looking, though, Tilly turns into an impish little shit, running up behind the other birds and pulling out tail feathers or tugging on the tails over her furry teammates. She's quick to run off as soon as she's done it, squeaking her way back over to Newt to hide behind his legs.

After settling down in Azalea Newt noticed that Tilly often disappeared and soon found out that she and her younger siblings from Merlin and Helena's last clutch had discovered a pond to call their own. And even found other Duckletts to make friends with!

She's a very easy going and happy little thing that loves to curl up on top of a pile of blankets and take a nap. She loves to listen to the stories Newt tells, so much so that she's very insistent he tells one every night and let's be real, he doesn't mind in the least. She loves to play with her parents and her brother, though the latter seems to prefer running off to get into trouble.
After evolving into a Pikachu, Ella and her brother decided that, like their mother, they wanted to see the world and explore! Find the Surfer Chus and spend some time with them. So after heartfelt goodbyes the duo set out with Roderick the Pelipper to explore the world.

He's a much bigger brat than Tilly is and he does not want to listen to Newt or his parents. At all. He's a rough housing little jerk that will pounce on his siblings or the other young Pokemon, rough them up, then dart off to find his next victim before they can do anything about it.
Needless to say, Gifford has been in a lot of time outs.
After evolving, Gifford set out with his sister Elladore and Roderick the Pelipper to explore the world and find the Surfung Chu colony.

He doesn't like to play like the other little ones do, though he does seem content to settle down with Ella and listen to stories from time to time. Roderick can be a little on the stubborn side when there's something he wants to do but isn't allowed to do but it's very rare that he'll defy what Newt or Salazar says.
With his friends Elladore and Gifford, Roderick has set out to explore the world and see if he can find his place.

Received on Route 6 (egg) | September 25th, 2017 Hatched on September 30th, 2017 A very hesitant little thing, Maeve seems to prefer hiding out in a pile of blankets more than anything else. Since hatching she's taken quite well to most of the other young Pokemon Newt is traveling with--especially the Pichu siblings. (Which has absolutely delighted Newt considering Mimikyus generally aren't fans of Pikachus and, well, Pichus evolve into them.)
The one thing she isn't shy about is eating, though. This little ghost can put Poffins away like no other so make sure not to leave anything out if you plan on saving it.
While in Goldenrod City with Pamela, Newt encountered a young boy that was rather fascinated by Ghost Pokemon. Mauve was traveling with them at the time was absolutely charmed by the young boy and Newt happily encouraged her to go along with him.

Met on Route 19 (level 34) | September 2nd, 2017 This sweet little thing was hanging about in the shallows on Route 19, clearly terrified of something further out. It took some time but Newt managed to calm the little dear and found out, with Queenie's help, that she had been separated from her family and was scared of all the Tentacruels in the area. Newt offered her a place in his team, explaining to her that a Pokeball was going to be the best way to transport her since he wouldn't always be near the water, promising to help her find her family. Bertie accepted and allowed herself to be caught, still skittish and nervous around Newt and his team but she knows they're all sincere, at least.
Newt's cottage and the small creek/pond behind it proved to be just what Bertie needed. The freedom of coming and going as she pleases to search for her family has made her a bit more open to interacting with others and while she still hasn't had luck finding them, she has started to accept Newt and his crew as a surrogate family.
Luck seemed to be on Bertie's side because at the start of the new year a school of Wishiwashi passed through during their travels and, lo and behold, they were her family! While she was sad to go and Newt was sad to see her go, she promised to visit whenever they were passing through. She's now traveling the region with her family once more, with her school where she was meant to be.

Met on Seafoam Islands (level 33) | August 19th, 2017 A shy little creature that Queenie managed to coax close when they were taking a break from exploring the Seafoam Caves. The little Piplup took to Queenie very quickly and, in turn, to Newt, tagging along with them while they searched for Lugia.
Newt didn't have the heart to leave the little one behind and offered Rowen the choice to come along. Rowen took it a step further and plucked a Pokeball from Newt's pocket, allowing himself to be caught. He's still very shy and is usually clinging to Queenie whenever he's out but Newt's very fond of him just the way he is.
Having recently evolved to the first branch of his evolutionary line, Rowen seems to be gaining a little bit more confidence in himself due, in part, to his friendship with Roxy. The Lycanroc is quite fond of him and the two regularly run about together before plopping down to take a well deserved nap. There's no long term relationship goals here, folks. Just good friends that love one another. (Enough to grace their trainer with some eggs here and there.)
After Christmas, the Christmas of Newt's first year in the world of Pokemon, Rowen decided that he wanted to venture out on his own and visit the island he once called home. There were quite a few tears shed and Roxy was heartbroken to see him go but the Empoleon promised to visit someday soon.

Received from Salazar (egg) | November 2nd, 2017 Hatched on November 9th, 2017 Salazar's daughter, Beau is the exact opposite of her serious and very forward father. From the moment she hatched she was curious about the world and very excited to show just how much. She's a very happy little thing and took an instant shining to Newt, happily flitting about him on unsteady wings, chirping and squeaking as she started to talk a mile a minute about things he couldn't understand.
Just as quickly as she can get all worked up, she can just as quickly fall asleep though, Beau very fond of naps. She loves to cuddle with the other Pokemon and can usually be fond tucked against her father.
During Newt's trip to the Ruins of Alph with Credence, the wizard crossed paths with a bat enthusiast and introduced the young lady to Beau after having the little Swoobat sent via his PC. The two hit it off immediately and Beau seemed to make fast friends with the other bat Pokemon the young woman was friends with so the decision was made to leave Beau in her capable hands.

Received on Route 5 (egg) | September 30th, 2017 Hatched on October 7th, 2017 From the moment he hatched it was obvious that Paracelsus was a very old soul in a small body. And a very intelligent one to boot. He has a keen interest in everything and everyone around him but doesn't really want to engage in any sort of play with the other young Pokemon. He's quite content to sit in Newt's lap while the wizard and Cornelius the Oranguru practice sign language and other lessons, soaking up all the knowledge he can.
Paracelsus has yet to attempt anything with his illusion abilities and Newt isn't about to press the little one to try. For now he's happy to teach his little fox all about the world he comes from as well as everything he knows about the Pokemon world Paracelsus has been born into. Finally putting his abilities to use, Paracelsus has developed the habit of turning into someone that Newt is close to: Armin. This, of course, make things just a touch awkward at times but Newt was able to convince his dear companion to try other forms as well from time to time though, more often than not, a young blonde could be found wandering around the cottage.
Thankfully when Paracelsus finally evolved he stopped taking on that particular form, instead mimicking Newt more often than not though he seemed more content with his own form now that he was fully grown. (So to speak.) As time passed he began to grow a bit antsy living around the cottage until finally making the decision to venture out into the world to see what he could find.
Met in Cherrygrove (level 6) | July 4th, 2017 Morgan's companion, Fay happily followed along when the other Flabebe stowed away in Newt's jacket, extremely curious about the man and the Pokemon he traveled with. Now on the road with the group, Fay is curious about everything and loves to hover around Newt's journal whenever he's writing, even attempting to add her own gibberish-y notes when she can.
Even in the face of a Legendary Pokemon like Lugia, Fay didn't lose her impish nature and found it pretty hilarious when the other three Legendary birds got scolded by Lugia. Since that meeting she seems to have a drive to meet other Legendaries, wanting to find out if they're all as funny as that group had been.
During Morgan's extended stay away, Fae wandered off a bit more than normal, exploring the areas that Newt was traveling through, usually returning after no more than a few days away. It was during one such stay away that Fae evolved and her return to Newt was a rather excited one as she showed off what she could do and how much she'd grown. She's thrilled to have Morgan back, despite enjoying the chance to explore freely, and while they aren't at the same stage in development anymore, are still very close friends.
The coming of Spring brought on a change that some saw coming but most hoped wasn't going to happen--especially Newt, if he was going to be honest. Fay, content knowing that Morgan was happy and safe now especially since her long time companion had fully evolved and found a mate, decided it was time to take her leave. Newt awoke one morning to find his cabin practically in bloom there were so many flowers covering it and the message was clear: Goodbye and thank you.

Received from Ford Pines (egg) | December 7th, 2017 Hatched on December 12th, 2017 Newt was absolutely delighted at the opportunity to take on another fossil Pokemon without the need of a fossil itself and Edgar has not disappointed. He's a gorgeous creature and as gentle as they come, immediately taking to Newt when he hatched and seeing many of the other young Pokemon as his siblings. He's always careful when he plays with others or with toys, clearly not wanting to break anything because that would mean no one else could enjoy those things!
Edgar is a very strong willed individual, though, and is determined to be the best that he can be and learn everything that he can. He wants to be more amazing than Newt already thinks he is and is going to work hard to evolve as soon as possible and grow into a strong Pokemon.
While taking a short adventure walk into Azalea, Newt and Edgar stopped by the Pokemon Center to chat with the nurses there and one young lady that was there training fell instantly in love with the little Amaura. While Newt chattered with Nurse Joy, the trainee sat on the floor and played with Edgar and by the time the wizard needed to head home he didn't have the heart to separate the pair. With the promise to visit as often as possible, Newt left Edgar in the young lady's care, happy to see one of his little ones find a good place in the world.

Received from Queenie (eggs) | November 2nd, 2017 Hatched on November 6th, 2017 Three of Jacob and Queenie's children ended up staying with Newt and he's honestly quite okay with that. All of them are hard little workers that strive to be good caretakers like their mother and trainer are. Despite being young they have taken on a lot of responsibility towards the other Pokemon in Newt's group and household in general, Duchess especially tending to injured Pokemon that may wander into the cottage while Baron and Duke tend to all of the newly hatched Pokemon.
The trio get along very well with very few squabbles happening unless it concerns nap time. Duke is a little more easy going about it while the other two are rather strict about making sure all the other little ones take naps.
Eventually they win, though. Most of the time. (Duke is a master of playtime and the other young Pokes love him for it.)
Received from Ford (egg) | November 5th, 2017 Hatched on November 12th, 2017 From the moment she hatched it was clear that Newt was her person, her parental figure, and that no one else really mattered. Perpetua isn't mean to anyone else she just tends to get rather quiet and somewhat shy when there are other people around, especially, and is content to just stay hidden underneath Newt's coat, floating there quietly while he finishes whatever it is he's doing. She seems to have a desire to learn how to read and becomes quite fond of any book that she gets her hands on much to Newt's joy. (As such, his new cottage has quite the library already.)
Despite the offer to stay at the cottage, Perpetua seemed inclined to stay in Newt's traveling party despite not really having a desire to battle. Newt has a feeling that she may just want every opportunity to learn that's available to her and he's quite okay with that.

The Lycanroc is quite fond of him and the two regularly run about together before plopping down to take a well deserved nap. There's no long term relationship goals here, folks. Just good friends that love one another. (Enough to grace their trainer with some eggs here and there.)
After Christmas, the Christmas of Newt's first year in the world of Pokemon, Rowen decided that he wanted to venture out on his own and visit the island he once called home. There were quite a few tears shed and Roxy was heartbroken to see him go but the Empoleon promised to visit someday soon.

Salazar's daughter, Beau is the exact opposite of her serious and very forward father. From the moment she hatched she was curious about the world and very excited to show just how much. She's a very happy little thing and took an instant shining to Newt, happily flitting about him on unsteady wings, chirping and squeaking as she started to talk a mile a minute about things he couldn't understand.
Just as quickly as she can get all worked up, she can just as quickly fall asleep though, Beau very fond of naps. She loves to cuddle with the other Pokemon and can usually be fond tucked against her father.
During Newt's trip to the Ruins of Alph with Credence, the wizard crossed paths with a bat enthusiast and introduced the young lady to Beau after having the little Swoobat sent via his PC. The two hit it off immediately and Beau seemed to make fast friends with the other bat Pokemon the young woman was friends with so the decision was made to leave Beau in her capable hands.

From the moment he hatched it was obvious that Paracelsus was a very old soul in a small body. And a very intelligent one to boot. He has a keen interest in everything and everyone around him but doesn't really want to engage in any sort of play with the other young Pokemon. He's quite content to sit in Newt's lap while the wizard and Cornelius the Oranguru practice sign language and other lessons, soaking up all the knowledge he can.
Paracelsus has yet to attempt anything with his illusion abilities and Newt isn't about to press the little one to try. For now he's happy to teach his little fox all about the world he comes from as well as everything he knows about the Pokemon world Paracelsus has been born into. Finally putting his abilities to use, Paracelsus has developed the habit of turning into someone that Newt is close to: Armin. This, of course, make things just a touch awkward at times but Newt was able to convince his dear companion to try other forms as well from time to time though, more often than not, a young blonde could be found wandering around the cottage.
Thankfully when Paracelsus finally evolved he stopped taking on that particular form, instead mimicking Newt more often than not though he seemed more content with his own form now that he was fully grown. (So to speak.) As time passed he began to grow a bit antsy living around the cottage until finally making the decision to venture out into the world to see what he could find.

Morgan's companion, Fay happily followed along when the other Flabebe stowed away in Newt's jacket, extremely curious about the man and the Pokemon he traveled with. Now on the road with the group, Fay is curious about everything and loves to hover around Newt's journal whenever he's writing, even attempting to add her own gibberish-y notes when she can.
Even in the face of a Legendary Pokemon like Lugia, Fay didn't lose her impish nature and found it pretty hilarious when the other three Legendary birds got scolded by Lugia. Since that meeting she seems to have a drive to meet other Legendaries, wanting to find out if they're all as funny as that group had been.
During Morgan's extended stay away, Fae wandered off a bit more than normal, exploring the areas that Newt was traveling through, usually returning after no more than a few days away. It was during one such stay away that Fae evolved and her return to Newt was a rather excited one as she showed off what she could do and how much she'd grown. She's thrilled to have Morgan back, despite enjoying the chance to explore freely, and while they aren't at the same stage in development anymore, are still very close friends.
The coming of Spring brought on a change that some saw coming but most hoped wasn't going to happen--especially Newt, if he was going to be honest. Fay, content knowing that Morgan was happy and safe now especially since her long time companion had fully evolved and found a mate, decided it was time to take her leave. Newt awoke one morning to find his cabin practically in bloom there were so many flowers covering it and the message was clear: Goodbye and thank you.

Newt was absolutely delighted at the opportunity to take on another fossil Pokemon without the need of a fossil itself and Edgar has not disappointed. He's a gorgeous creature and as gentle as they come, immediately taking to Newt when he hatched and seeing many of the other young Pokemon as his siblings. He's always careful when he plays with others or with toys, clearly not wanting to break anything because that would mean no one else could enjoy those things!
Edgar is a very strong willed individual, though, and is determined to be the best that he can be and learn everything that he can. He wants to be more amazing than Newt already thinks he is and is going to work hard to evolve as soon as possible and grow into a strong Pokemon.
While taking a short adventure walk into Azalea, Newt and Edgar stopped by the Pokemon Center to chat with the nurses there and one young lady that was there training fell instantly in love with the little Amaura. While Newt chattered with Nurse Joy, the trainee sat on the floor and played with Edgar and by the time the wizard needed to head home he didn't have the heart to separate the pair. With the promise to visit as often as possible, Newt left Edgar in the young lady's care, happy to see one of his little ones find a good place in the world.

Three of Jacob and Queenie's children ended up staying with Newt and he's honestly quite okay with that. All of them are hard little workers that strive to be good caretakers like their mother and trainer are. Despite being young they have taken on a lot of responsibility towards the other Pokemon in Newt's group and household in general, Duchess especially tending to injured Pokemon that may wander into the cottage while Baron and Duke tend to all of the newly hatched Pokemon.
The trio get along very well with very few squabbles happening unless it concerns nap time. Duke is a little more easy going about it while the other two are rather strict about making sure all the other little ones take naps.
Eventually they win, though. Most of the time. (Duke is a master of playtime and the other young Pokes love him for it.)

From the moment she hatched it was clear that Newt was her person, her parental figure, and that no one else really mattered. Perpetua isn't mean to anyone else she just tends to get rather quiet and somewhat shy when there are other people around, especially, and is content to just stay hidden underneath Newt's coat, floating there quietly while he finishes whatever it is he's doing. She seems to have a desire to learn how to read and becomes quite fond of any book that she gets her hands on much to Newt's joy. (As such, his new cottage has quite the library already.)
Despite the offer to stay at the cottage, Perpetua seemed inclined to stay in Newt's traveling party despite not really having a desire to battle. Newt has a feeling that she may just want every opportunity to learn that's available to her and he's quite okay with that.

After the events of Island Prom, Newt offered to send some Pokemon to help heal and take care of the wild Pokemon that had been injured during the scuffle. Knight and Lady both volunteered to go and thus were sent to assist in the rebuilding and rehab efforts.
