Oh, ah, yes! This is, um--this is Merlin and this lovely lady is Helena.

[His attention on his Pokemon, Newt manages some composure as he smiles at the air. The Swanna let's out a coo and spreads her wings to show off while Merlin tilts his head up proudly.]

He recently brought her with him after an extended stay away.

[She smirks briefly at the red on his cheeks before smiling at the two birds.]

Ah, I see. Flew the nest to court a lovely lady. Well, who could blame him with such a vision?

Oh he often goes off for extended trips. Merlin comes and goes as he pleases since he's not actually one of my own Pokemon.

[He chances a glance at Ivy, smiling nervously before he's looking away again so he can fuss with the eggs, shucking his jacket off to tuck around them.]

You said you, ah, needed help with something?

He must put a lot of trust in you to bring you his mate and offspring.

[She returns his smile with one of her own and a playful wink.]

Ah, yes. I don't know if you recall I mentioned I'd made some additions to my ah... menagerie during the incident last month?

We've built up a rather solid friendship since we first met. I am very lucky to have him around.

[Merlin crooned softly, leaning in to nip at Newt's sleeve in an affectionate manner. The wizard smiles and taps his beak gently before he looks back at Queenie and the 'gear.]

Oh, yes, I do remember you mentioning as much.

Well, one of the creatures I picked up is a fire lizard, of sorts.

[She turns the camera to show a Salandit stood at the bank, making low hissing noises and nuzzling its snout against a pleased looking Skrelp.]

[A series of thumps indicate Ivy is patting the ground. The Salandit turns its head towards her and makes its way over, climbing over her leg and up to coil around her neck.]

I'm afraid I've been struggling to pick an appropriate name for him.

[For a moment it presses its snout into her hair (making Nymph squeak and move to the other side of Ivy's head) before looking at the camera and blinking lazily.]

My doctorate is in botany and plant pathology so I'm afraid my knowledge on lizards is limited. I was wondering if you had any suggestions?

Ah a Salandit--and that..I believe that is a Skrelp, yes?

[Neither of which he had seen in person yet but oh are they just as lovely as the pictures made them out to be.

Newt smiles and waves slightly at the lizard as it climbs onto Ivy though he is listening to what she has to say as well.]

I do know a few reptilian creatures back home, though most of them are dragons outside of the rather obvious Salamander. I suppose Occamys fit into the category as well but is there anything in particular you were looking for?

I'm afraid I've never heard of an Occamy.

[The Salandit gives a twitch of its tail, knowing it's being spoken about.]

I did think of salamanders but, again, I'm afraid I don't know enough about the breeds. You see, I've been drawing inspiration from flora I'm familiar with when it comes to addressing them.

[She gestures towards the Skrelp.]

Laminariales, for example.

[She casually points to a few of the Grass types nearby, including the newly evolved Cradily and Tyler.]

Crinoidea, Monocotyledons, you get the idea.

[Ivy looks at the lizard.]

Would you prefer a name similar to a salamander? Or a dragon?

[At the prospect of being called a dragon, the Salandit lifts its head and blows out a small stream of smoke. Ivy smirks.]

Of course, male bravado.

I do, a very intriguing way of naming them, Pamela.

[He hadn't done anything quite as scientific as that but, rather, had told his Pokemon stories from home and many of them ended up taking to names of various Wizards and Witches.

That little display gets a chuckle out of the wizard and he looks thoughtful as he starts to recall names.]

Let me see..there are Hungarian Horntails--which are the most dangerous of all the species, Antipodean Opaleyes which are absolutely lovely! They are pure white and each one has seemingly rainbow colored eyes!

[Settle in, this may take a minute.]

Chinese Fireballs, which I believe is the basis for quite a few Chinese legends and muggles seem to be fond of making things with pictures of them on it. Peruvian Vipertooths--a rather vicious little thing that was responsible for a major outbreak of Dragon Pox. Then there's the Swedish Short-Snouts which, surprisingly, have their very own preserve that takes up a majority of the country.

[A fond smile appears now.]

Ukranian Ironbellies are one that I'm quite familiar with. I worked a great deal with them during the war and got to know several individuals that I have visited quite a bit since then.

[No time to get nostalgic.]

Hebridean Blacks like on islands off the coast of Scotland and they very much love sheep. Norwegian Ridgebacks are rather temperamental. Love the mountains and, as I assume you can guess, are native to Norway specifically. And lastly are the Welsh Greens which, of all the breeds, tends to be the most docile. They love the mountains as well and tend to blend in extremely well in large forests.

[With all of them finally explained, Newt blinks then gives Ivy a sheepish smile.]

Ah..yes. Right, those are the dragons I am familiar with from home.

[As Newt spoke, Ivy watched him get caught up on his own words. It was adorable really. She rested her chin on her palm and remained quiet as she listened. as smile tugging at the corners of her mouth at the fondness in his tone.

Once he was done, she flashed him a very pretty grin.]

Very impressive. It's nice to hear someone with such passion speak.

[You do this on purpose don't you, Ivy?

Newt flushes and clears his throat, glancing away and at the eggs at his side.]

Well I--back home it was something of my profession. To know study creatures and care for them. I very much enjoyed it.

It shows. And it was an absolute pleasure to listen to.

[The curl of her lips turns playful.]

So, which do you think best suits my little friend here?

[Despite how flustered he is, Newt does manage a small smile though eye contact is still impossible.]

I would say..possibly either the Chinese Fireball or Norwegian Ridgeback.

[Ivy looks at the Salandit's smooth back. Ridge probably wasn't going to work.]

A Chinese Fireball, you say?

[At those words the Pokemon lifts its head up in interest.]

Oh, you like Fireball?

[He nods his head and blows a small stream of smoke out at her. Ivy smirks.]

A little on the nose. Or, on the snout should I say. But if it makes him happy. Fireball it is.

[She giving Newt a playful smirk again.]

Thank you, Newt.

[Newt's smile turns sheepish as he chances at glance at Ivy before quickly looking at Fireball again and clearing his throat.]

It's..it's no trouble at all, Pamela. I am happy to help. Truly.

[Even if you do fluster the hell out of him and he has no idea what to do about it.]

You're so sweet, Newt. Thankyou again.

[She gives him a parting wink.]

[And he's about to overheat he's blushing so much.]

O-of course, Pamela. Anytime.

[He gives a quick wave, still unable to look her directly in the eye before cutting the 'gear off so he can go try and get un-flustered.

Thanks a bunch, Ivy. Gawd.]
