Um...sorry to bother you but.

....Someone sent me one of Creadence's pokemon for some reason, and I can't make the gear connect to his. Do you know where he is?

[Hello Newt and welcome to smol Newt's first experience in someone going home./she has no idea what the no connection thing really means.]

[He'd been so worried about Hermione, so caught up in his own sadness over Credence being gone that he'd completely forgotten about the young girl that his charge had bonded with.

So it's no surprise that when she contacts him, the older Newt looks momentarily shocked before his expression melts into something pained.]

It's..it's no bother at all, Miss Newt, I promise you.

Credence is--he...just as people tend to..appear here at random they..sometimes..sometimes they disappear as well. At random, that is.

[He disappeared. He was gone. He....

Oh. No one had died but she'd lost someone anyway....or at least she hope he didn't. She needs to check though.]

.....did....he go home? He isn't dead is he? You can tell me if he is. I know adults don't like to tell kids things like that. But I'm used to people I know dying.

[The situation on the island. She must have thought that something had happened to him there.]

No, no it's nothing like that. He's simply returned home. That's why you can't reach him on your 'gear and why his Pokemon have ended up with the people he thought of as friends and family.

[He says it gently, calmly, wanting her to process it.]

I promise you, Miss Newt, Credence is alive and well back home.

[It's..not completely a lie.]

[She was convinced everyone died, and the, actually no one died seemed too impossible to her. So yeah...that was a thought. This though...

He's gone. He didn't mean to leave her but he did and....well he never promised and it's not his fault but...it still hurts. She remains quiet for a moment then nods.]

Okay. I....he was my friend but I'm glad he went home and isn't dead.

[Newt might have a really big thing about people dying on her. So vanishing on her is better. It still hurts, but it's better.]

I'll look after Modesty really well. I promise.

[And she's serious about that. Promises are important and so she doesn't make them lightly.]

[This young girl was so much stronger than most children should have to be. It was rather boggling to Newt but he could only imagine what she had been through to get her to that point.]

I know you will and I have no doubts that Credence knew she would be in good hands with you.

[Even if he's not entirely sure it's a choice that most people can make when they leave this place.]

If..you do need anything or just any help in general..or wish to see any of Credence's other Pokemon sometime, you are more than welcome to visit whenever you please, Miss Newt.

[That makes her feel a bit better actually. The idea that he'd trust her with one of his pokemon.]
