The Graphorn was large and hump-backed, with grayish-purple skin tougher than that of dragons. It could repel most spells, had two golden horns, and walked on large four-thumbed feet. It's mouth was made of tentacle-like appendages, that were used to grab food and put it in it's mouth. It also used these to show affection. It was said to resemble a sabre-tooth tiger.
Its horn was a highly prized potion ingredient, used in potions like the Antidote to Uncommon Poisons. Graphorns were sometimes used as mounts by Mountain Trolls, but the Graphorn did not like it - it was more common to see mountain trolls covered in scars from a Graphorn.
I am so pleased with the progress I've made with the Graphorns. The parents continue to become more affectionate as they settle and both their offspring are developing well. I couldn't be happier though I worry that I may not be able to find a suitable habitat outside of my case before the two young Graphorns have fully matured. Ideally I would very much like to find a spot of land well out of the reach of humans and wizards alike but it will take some time to find something appropriate. Until that day, I will do what I can to care for them here and perhaps the parents will continue to breed..as chaotic as that might end up.
